KEYS TO LIGHT UP YOUR TUNES
Casio LK-280 Key Lighting Keyboard
This keyboard has revolutionised music learning by introducing a Step-Teaching function that is programmed to guide learners through a step-wise progression.
The Step-Lesson’s function, where songs are separated into smaller phrases such that it is easy for the learners to understand and recreate them one phrase at a time. It takes you through practice of the right-hand, then left-hand and finally both-hands part for each phrase. By mastering all phrases, you master the whole song.
If you are looking for a music teacher at your beck and call, 24/7, look no further - with its lighted key display, this keyboard shows you which key to play next and will also call out the number of the finger that needs to play next in a simulated voice. Should storage capacity be a concern, fret not. Backed with USB midi and SDHC card, LK280 allows one to store virtually an unlimited song selection. Plus it allows the teacher to load songs or even lessons that they want their students to learn into the keyboard from external sources.
One of LK280’s most innovative features is without doubt the keyboard classroom management system (CMS) (left). This feature lights up the notes on the students’ keyboards as the teacher plays them on her keyboard enhancing the ability to grasp the tune better.
This keyboard’s ability to load songs and lessons, the Step-Teaching functions, together with the CMS help to take a huge workload off the music teacher. It is interesting to note that an experiment under Professor Ryuta Kawashima, professor at the institute of aging medical science; Tohoku University proved that playing with these keyboard helps in the development of the brain by stimulating the prefrontal cortex located just behind the forehead controlling memory or feeling.
The LK280 keyboard also has touch responsive keys that aid learning for beginners. It has 152 built-in songs including 50 for practice. It also has 600 built-in tones, a 5 song recorder, digital effects and a microphone input to open up huge possibilities. The USB port allows you to convert your LK280 into a MIDI keyboard with software for IT Music Lessons easily as the software driver required to send and receive data will be installed automatically in this keyboard when connected to the computer.
