Thomson Catering & Enterprises Pte Ltd has been around since 1969, serving the construction, manufacturing and petrochemical industries. Started by a humble family, the caterer commenced operations on the oil-refinery island collectively called Jurong Island. Through the recommendation of faithful clients and by word-of-mouth, the family-run catering operations started taking on more projects.

It blossomed during the infrastructural projects of the 1970s and 1980s when Jurong Island, Pulau Sakra and Pulau Seraya were being developed by JTC and EDB into a petro-chemical hub. In 1998, it evolved into Thomson Catering & Enterprises Pte Ltd, and attained ISO 9002:1995.

Its list of clientele include Chiyoda Corporation, Exxon Mobil Chemical, Penta-Ocean Construction Company Limited, Chevron, Obayashi and Plant Engineering Construction Pte Ltd. This early success enabled Thomson Catering to venture into restaurant and cafeterias management and launch on a global platform where it serves clients from countries like USA, UK, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia. To date, it has served more than 45,400 employees.

With a new central kitchen at Jurong Food Hub that started in April 2011, it is well placed to double the food chain production to meet the growing demand. of customer-focussed catering services.
