Like an agent on a mission, Raadhika scoured the internet and bookstores and spoke to more than a dozen parents in the same boat. She knew that if she could not find what her child needed, she had to create it herself. So she set to work in her own kitchen, experimenting with various recipes. She soon came up with a whole new world of possibilities. From egg-free baking, she went on to create dairy-free, nut-free and gluten-free cakes and cookies. This led to the birth of ‘So Intricake! Baking School’, where creative baking techniques are taught to children and adults affected by allergies and food intolerances.
So Intricake! has become a haven for healthy baking enthusiasts. “We teach skills to all who wish to ‘have their cake and eat it too’!” says the effervescent Raadhika.
Manoj insists food allergies and intolerances should not get in the way of enjoying good food. “That’s why our classes cover many delicious varieties of cakes and cookies. Children and adults are welcome to experience this for themselves. The egg-free, dairy-free and gluten-free cakes are made with much less fat and sugar than regular cakes, yet many are unable to tell the difference,” says Manoj.
Classes are conducted in a homely environment - perfect for a chatty audience who love hands-on sessions. The recipes are delicious and easy-to-make, and you are sure to pick up extra tips and ideas. And as the couple say, “Once you have tried the cakes and cookies, you may never go back to baking with eggs, dairy or gluten.”
